Patricia Stanley-Low's mural at Chorleywood
Patricia Stanley-Low's mural at Chorleywood
Painted when she was a young girl, it depicts King Edward 11 of England, his favourite companion Piers Gaveston, 1st Earl of Cornwall and on the right his wife Isabella who he married in 1308.

The stained glass windows tell the story: "Pity Piers Gaveston, died May 1312." However his death is recorded elsewhere as 19th June 1312. More information: www.robertlacey.com/piers_gaveston.html & http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piers_Gaveston.

Photographed in 2007 in Chorleywood where Patricia and her sister Mary grew up.
